Neelys Bend Road runs out into the big loop of the Cumberland River on the east side of Madison. Peeler Park sits at the far end of it. East Nashville and downtown are a short drive back the other way.

1112 Neelys Bend sits on 1.9 level acres in an established part of Madison. The house is brick, built in 1953, with about 2,557 square feet over two levels. Three bedrooms and three full baths. There is a formal dining room, a formal living room, and two wood burning fireplaces.

The upstairs is its own one bedroom apartment, with a kitchen and a separate outside entrance. That gives a buyer some options. Family, guests, or a tenant.

It sold for $330,000. That is $30,000 over the list price.

An auction is real estate backwards. Buyers set the price in the open, on a set date, with everyone watching. For a brick house with an apartment upstairs on almost two acres in Madison, the market decided it was worth more than the asking price.
