Union Camp Road runs through the hills of rural Macon County outside Lafayette. Number 4810 sits on a hilltop at the end of a private drive, with a gate about halfway up.

I have been up that drive for two different sales.

The first was in the winter of 2022 into 2023. The house was listed at $559,900, and I represented the buyer. It closed in March 2023 at $525,000.

The second was in the fall of 2024. This time I represented the seller. We listed it at $550,000, and it closed on December 30, 2024, at $536,000.

Nine acres, wooded and hilly. A two story house built in 2012, three bedrooms and three baths, about 2,900 square feet. A wraparound covered porch and two screened sleeping porches. A wood burning fireplace in the living room. A kitchen with double ovens and a commercial grade refrigerator.

There is a six stall horse barn with a wash rack and a tack and work room, and a chicken coop beside it. The place is fenced.

Lafayette is the Macon County seat, and the county runs right up to the Kentucky line. Horse property with a house like this one is not common anywhere in the Upper Cumberland.
